Why do they call it Step Down*
Aug. 4th, 2004 03:48 pmwhen it's three floors above where he was? ;-)
My poor frog wants to be home--but he can barely stand for a few moments, his hands aren't very cooperative, swallowing is a chore that doesn't always seem to work right (but it is improving), it usually takes at least three tries to understand what he wants to say, and he's not very happy about being talked over and about, when they're not cooing at him as if he's a child.
On the other hand, he does understand what's going on, he's just not happy about it. And he can't seem to hide his penchant for bad puns and sneaky little jokes. He's definitely on his way out the door--we just don't know how long it'll take. The first thing he said when they told him he'd been in CVR for over a week was "that's too long" and "I'm getting up now." He wants me to take him home immediately--but I keep refusing. No way I can pick him up off the floor--it takes two strong nurses just to hold him up when he wants to sit down before he should! Silly frog.
Have I mentioned how good it is to have my frog back? *big grin* I mean, the really hard part is just getting started, but at least I'll get to talk to him.
* Step Down Unit--a little less than "intensive" care, but not much. At least I'll have some place to sit when I'm there.
